GERMAN VIOLIN LABELLED ROCCA, C.1900

About this Violin:
Labelled Joseph Rocca fecit Taurini anno Domini 1862, the one-piece back of medium irregular curl, the varnish of a red brown colour.

This violin was made in around 1910, in the traditional Saxon violin making town. Its Saxon origins are immediately apparent from the craftsmanship and the typical coloring of the varnish, which has developed pretty antique patina and has appropriate signs of age and playing. The violin, which is in excellent condition and is ready to play immediately, with a warm, resonant sound.
